I thought my father must probably think that most motorcycle accidents are the result of drivers forgetting to hit the brakes. And then it happens BLAG! - I hit a SUV in front of me and guess what? I forgot to hit the brakes. So my father was right. But still, even after that incident I simply just ride my motorcycle without any care. It’s always fun to ride around town racing with friends on busy streets or beating the red light. That was then, when I can still walk and ride my motorcycle but now I’m stuck in my wheelchair although I still do racing with my co-paralyzed friends.

Sad, isn’t it? However, no matter how many stories like this are published or written still very few people do actually care to stop and read and then learned from the mistakes of others. This article may not contain new ideas regarding traffic and safety tips since I, for one thinks that there are really no other way of stating these tips. This article aims to increase awareness on how to avoid motorcycle accidents.

Every bystander that saw you wishes that they could also have a girl like yours and they exclaimed “She’s definitely hot on the road” and then you smile and said “Wish on brothersthis girl is mine”

Have you ever wondered why most men refer to their bikes as a she or their girl? In order to satisfy my curiosity I asked some of the boys in the neighborhood with bikes why they have to refer to their bikes as their girl. And these are some of their explanations:

Boy 1: I call my bike my girl because it’s beautiful and shapely like you girls. - I don’t know about this but if I’m compared to a bike I definitely would not want to be compared with those bulky big bikes. Just think of what that implies.

Boy 2: My bike is my girl friend because she’s hot! - Again, I don’t know what to think of this comparison but it must be because exhaust of motorcycles are hot when you get in contact with it or it may pertain probably to the look of the bike. Well, it’s their opinion in the first place.

It is nonetheless surprising to know that there are riders who can’t even change their oil, wash their own motorcycle and regulate its maintenance. Instead they just depend on outer help for their motorcycles. I wonder how they can manage the situation of over-relying..

Motorcycles are rider’s loyal companion. Every ride brings them closer. Every maneuver creates a bond and every day spent generates a boost in the relation.

What Matters Most in MOTORCYCLES?
 by: Maricon Williams

Many motorcycle owners spend countless of dollars just to increase the engine performance of their bikes. And some of these engine performance parts include exhaust, fuel injection, mapping system and many more. Aside from that, countless accessories not only for the bikes but also for the owners are required only to be disappointed at the end. Such disappointment is due to the fact that they have not gotten the desired performance they want.

Take for example trail riding wherein speed is not at all times required due to the jaggedness of the terrain. Additional accessories designed for speed may create some problems along the way. Like your motorcycle may end up too much for you to handle. And some expert bikers say that some motorcycle accessories may even render your bikes to become slower. Likewise, some motorcycle accessories may even cause you, the rider to meet an accident. An example of which is buying taller tires without considering geometry of your motorcycle. Such may cause a rider to lose balance and that can be fatal especially during trail riding.

Motorcycles are slim and light. You can take it wherever you go. Just mount on it and speed off and off you go to the busy street.

It is easy to maintain because it is made up of light materials. The engine, spoke of the wheels, frame and other vital parts are made up of the light material aluminum. Moreover the great percentage of a motorcycle is made up of steel. Thus, it is susceptible to rust. No matter how well you acquire the parts, no matter how good you maintain them, the pieces of steel will soon rust. This will preclude you from enjoying your motorcycle.

As I have observed, no matter how meticulous you are in cleaning the parts - searching for the dirt even in the most hard-to-reach nook, polishing it, making it squeaky clean but then you will end up frustrated because all your efforts just extended the life of the motorcycle but not totally eradicating rust.

Rust destroys the beauty of metals. It destroys its usability and state. As a correlative consequence, it will destroy your routine and enjoyment. Before it spoils your motorcycle passion, let me give you the solution to your rusting companion.

Fears and Driving
 by: Maricon Williams

Perhaps this is due to the stigma attached by the mass media coverage on collisions, explosions, fortuitous events and other incidents and accidents relating to the latter aside form the day to day accidents happening before my very eyes.

I carried this stigma until I became a teenager. This is because the image of being hit and the aftermath of collision are still fresh in my mind. I am afraid that if ever I will become a driver or a rider for that matter, I might also cause the same to innocent persons who trusted me with their lives but failed them. Not only that I might also my very life by virtue of said circumstances. I even envision myself drenched in blood, injured and half-dead. By this reason, I was always accompanied by a chauffer.

However, as I grew older and older, I find my brothers independence tempting. They can go wherever they wanted to without being dependent on a chauffer. They drive, they enjoy, they rule!
